When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. 当在人类事务的进程中,一个民族必须解散那些将他们与另一个民族联系在一起的政治纽带,并依据自然法则和自然之神的法律所赋予他们的权利,在地球的列强之中取得独立且平等的地位时,出于对人类舆论的妥当尊重,要求他们必须宣布不得不迫使他们走向分离的原因。

The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here.
